The VA Mastery Course is our in-depth Virtual Assistant training course. It’s designed to give you the solid foundations needed to create the business you want and get it up and running.  It’s ideal if you are looking at how to become a Virtual Assistant.

However, if you’re looking to become a Virtual Assistant, you may be wondering whether it’s the right course for you. But it’s not always about the course being suitable for you – sometimes you may not be right for the course!

So here are 7 reasons why you shouldn’t take the VA Mastery Course.

1. The VA Mastery Course is not the right fit for you if you’re looking to become an employee

The VA Mastery Course is designed to help you get started with your own VA business. Working for yourself requires you to be a self-motivator, a self-starter and have a proactive attitude. But that isn’t for everyone. If you prefer to have the financial stability of a regular paycheck, prefer to work in an employed capacity and have the associated perks, then you shouldn’t take this course.

2. You’re not willing to invest in yourself and your new business

It takes dedication to run your own business. But it also takes an investment of time, energy and money. Bootstrapping is an option I recommend when you’re just starting out and to only invest in the tools and support you need. Of course, it’s not always about money, but it does still require some kind of investment. You need to be willing to invest in yourself and your business – whether it’s paying for website hosting or investing in this course.

3. You’re looking for a course that just tells you what to do

You shouldn’t take the VA Mastery Course if you’re looking for someone just to tell you what to do. The course gives you the knowledge you need, following a proven method to create the foundations your business needs  – but it doesn’t tell you what to do. You still need to decide who you want to work with, how your business will look and what you will do to market and grow it. You’re creating the business you want, not filling in the blanks for a readymade business in a box.

4. You want to concentrate on just being a VA, not a business owner

As previously mentioned, this course helps you create your own VA business. You will need to learn how to become a business owner to make it a success. That includes learning how to run a business, market yourself and get visible on and offline. Please don’t take the VA Mastery Course if you have no interest in learning how to become your own business owner.

5. If getting rich quick is your top priority, the VACT is not the right fit for you

There is no get rich quick option. Running your own business takes time. It also requires you to put in the work, and the more work you put in, the faster you’ll see results. You can achieve whatever level of business success you want, but it isn’t going to happen overnight.

6. You’re not looking for personalised feedback or help

The VA Mastery Course is a hands-on DIY study option. You will get feedback on all of the modules if submitted within 12 months, and if you want to upgrade, you’ll also get 1:2:1 coaching. If you’re going to achieve the best results, this is the best path to take. But of course, if you’re not looking for personalised feedback or help, it may not be the best course for you to then take.

7. Collaboration and community are of no real interest to you

As mentioned in the blog post ‘Set up as a Virtual Assistant in 2021’, being part of a community is about networking, making friends and building relationships. The VA industry as a whole is built on collaboration, not competition. It helps not only each VA but also their business and the clients they work with. It may sound a little harsh, but if collaboration and community are of no real interest to you, you either need to change your mindset around them or consider picking a different career.

The VA Mastery Course is designed to give you the solid foundations you need to get your business up and running. But deciding whether it’s a course you should take depends on your preferences, goals, ideals and your view of the VA industry as a whole.  I hope you are excited to be joining this industry.
