My experience of VA Training with VACT

Omnia Business LogoI must admit, that I found Amanda by accident.  I had recently started a new job and hated it.  It was a long commute, the role didn’t excite me, and I found myself constantly thinking, “There must be more to life than this?”.

I remember clearly being sat in a car park, drumming up the energy to go into work and thinking to myself that, surely, there must be a market for freelance admin. support.  So, I did what most of us do and Googled it.  The first result I saw was for the VACT website, and realised that there were people doing this and obviously doing it successfully.

Soon afterwards, I started setting up my business. My first port of call was a call with Amanda.  From that one call I gained the confidence to go for it.

Why One to One Coaching?

Fast forward a year and my business had grown.  However, looking back, I was still not doing the type of work that excited me.  I decided I needed some outside guidance – as always, it’s very hard to take an overview of your own business and this is where I found Amanda’s advice invaluable.  I decided to opt for 1:1 coaching with Amanda and I haven’t ever looked back.

I remember the first task was to identify my target client – who did I WANT to work with, never mind where my existing work was coming from.  This was a huge “lightbulb moment” for me and allowed me to structure my business to attract these sorts of clients.

Consequently, I rebranded and redefined my business offerings, something with which Amanda helped massively.  She acted as a great sounding board for my ideas and was instrumental in generating some fantastic lead generation tools.

Now, in 2020, I’m undergoing another, more significant business change and Amanda has been fantastic in giving me the no-nonsense advice and support for which she is known.  My monthly coaching calls with her have been really helpful.  Each month I come away with valuable action points to instigate and Amanda is always at the end of a phone or email if I need her.

My VACT 1:1 coaching has been instrumental in growing, changing, improving and developing my business and I am really grateful to continue working with Amanda.

In hindsight, I wish I had taken up 1:1 coaching sooner.  At the time, I think there was a part of me that resisted, perhaps thinking that coaching was an admission of weakness, but in fact, it’s the opposite.  It’s recognizing that even the “top players” in any industry have coaches and mentors and that, sometimes, it’s necessary to step outside of your business to be able to gain the clarity an momentum to move forwards.

Whatever stage you are in your VA career, I would recommend you speak to Amanda.  The VACT 1:1 coaching has helped my business grow and it will yours, too.
